Nostalgia Kinky

I was thinking the other day just how absolutely crazy it is that I started blogging twenty years ago this year. That makes my once-glorious tribute blog, Fascination: The Jean Rollin Experience, around 18 years old! I’m still planning to bring the blog’s content (or at least the best of it) over here. See, I even have a little tab set up at the top of this page, but everything takes me a dreadfully long time.

Even though I don’t update Fascination, Rollin remains especially important to me. I recently recorded my third commentary for one of his films, which was a great honor. The Grapes of Death (1978) also marks the third time I’ve worked with the wonderful Indicator. My previous commentary tracks for Rollin’s work are on Indicator’s The Shiver of the Vampires (1971) and Fascination (1979). It’s meant the world getting to record these for Indicator’s definitive editions.

In other Rollin-related news, I had the great opportunity to appear on Austin Gentry and Casey Scott’s fantastic Podcat, The Sin Syndicate. We all discuss the American cut of Requiem for a Vampire, Caged Virgins, along with a slew of other topics. I greatly appreciate Austin and Casey, two of my favorite fellow film historians, for inviting me. It was so much fun.
