The Sylvia Kristel Archives: A Most Unusual discovery From Argentina

Earlier today this vintage poster advertising a film entitled Cama Para Tres Plazas (The Three-Way Bed) popped up on eBay advertising a most mysterious film. The seller described the poster with the following:

“Extremely rare movie poster manufactured in Argentina in the 70s.

Gloria Guida, Edwige Fenech, and Sylvia Krystel, despite their iconic status, never shared the screen in any film. This title is almost certainly a local fabrication, designed to capitalize on their individual popularity. It’s highly likely that it was assembled using clips from unrelated productions.

Size in inches: 28 x 42
Size in cm: 72 x 108″

I agree with him and the idea of a regionally edited compilation film was the first thing that came to my mind as well. This poster is sadly way too out of my current price range to add to the Archives but I wanted to share this fascinating scan. This local edit, credited to director Nando Cicero, most likely compiling nude scenes from Sylvia, Gloria Guida and Edwige Fenech has never come up in my research before but after digging around some I found some ads for it in early 1983 editions of the Buenos Aires newspaper Diario Cronica.

So far that’s all I have found on this very obscure compilation. If any readers have any further information please let me know. I wonder if the print (or prints) shown at these two theaters above have survived and what clips were utilized?

Best guess from my cursory sleuthing is Nando Cicero utilized his own footage from The Soldier with Great Maneuvers (1978) for the Fenech scenes, since that film also features Lino Banfi and Pippo Santonastaso. He then pillaged The Highschool Girl, the Devil, and the Holywater (1979) for the Guida scenes, but I have absolutely no idea what he would have stolen from to inject Sylvia Kristel. Maybe you can tell based off the promo artwork (what’s in her hand? an alarm clock?), but even that might not match the exact film Cicero used footage from. What a weird mess!

Thank you for all this! Excellent information and deductions. I love coming across stuff like this. Sylvia’s hairstyle in the poster looks like THE FIFTH MUSKETEER, which did have some nudity in its Euro cut. However the dress absolutely doesn’t match so who knows. Thanks again for this comment and info!

Looks like they also pilfered the assets of the poster for La liceale, il diavolo e l’acquasanta for this too, although they flipped Guida’s head and slapped it on a different body and took her body and gave it to one of the other ladies.

Perhaps Letti Selvaggi aka Tigers in Lipstick for Sylvia Kristel scenes.

That’s an apple she’s holding. Sylvia’s legs from the Fifth Musketeer poster are on Gloria here. Creepy.
