I wanted to give a quick but enthusiastic recommendation to Matthew Buzzell’s Un ‘indagine su una Memoria Italiana (An Investigation Into An Italian Memory). This striking 2026 short film was shot in Italy, and it is an eerie and unforgettable experience. Told utilizing a triple-split-screen format, Un ‘indagine su una Memoria Italiana would be a remarkable experience on the big screen, but even streamed on a large set at home, this is startling to watch. Congratulations to Matthew, director of one of my favorite music documentaries, Tell Me Do You Miss Me, for this dazzling technical triumph and tender take on memory.
