I wanted to take a moment to recommend legendary Chromatics guitarist Adam Miller’s incredible Substack. Turns out Miller’s journalism skills are just as distinctive as his extraordinary music. His most recent piece is an absolutely amazing interview with No Wave icon Adele Bertei. This lengthy chat is among the most interesting things I have read recently. Featuring some of the most penetrating thoughts on the current state of America and stories from a life WAY less ordinary, this is fascinating in every way and so surprising! I was mostly familiar with Adele through her Peter Laughner book, which means so much to me, and her pioneering No Wave work with the likes of Contortions.
